Infusion de Mimosa, Prada’s new sunny treat

Since 2007, Prada has been enhancing the perfume department of its “Les Infusions de Prada” collection. This one is described as being a kind of poetic breathing out of time inviting itself within the feminine perfumery. Also, it is one of the most emblematic flowers of spring that Prada this time wanted to highlight. The brand thus presents this new Infusion of Mimosa, a fragrance both fresh and sweet based on anise essence, with a more flowery heart and resting on a more woody base. The history of Prada Infusions

Infusion de Mimosa therefore comes from the Les Infusions de Prada collection. This brings together a panel of essences described as being, beautiful and pure, classic and innovative. Each of the fragrances of Infusions de Prada displays a perfectly balanced aesthetic and a structure halfway between classicism and baroque. Furthermore, these fragrances have absolutely nothing heady. In addition, as Daniela Andrier, perfumer in charge of the creation of Infusion de Mimosa and its predecessors, explains: “There are so many clichés in this universe. I don’t believe that all women want to wear a sexy fragrance or perfume the gourmet caramel. This is why it is above all a question of lightness and authenticity.

The velvety warmth of Mimosa Infusion

Infusion de Mimosa is therefore anchored in a bottle common to the entire collection of Infusions de Prada. It is nevertheless tinted yellow for the occasion. It displays an elegant, refined and discreet look. This container is adorned with the historic Prada logo, designed in 1919 and featuring the coat of arms and knots of the House of Savoy. The whole is also capped with a metal cap covered with embossed paper. Nevertheless, its very refined and elegant appearance is nonetheless contemporary. It thus reflects Prada’s passion for innovation. Likewise, the scent of Mimosa Infusion fits into exactly the same perspective. This opens with a flight of star anise, a tropical fruit with an aniseed, aromatic, spicy and syrupy scent. This ingredient is then accompanied by the tangy and fresh sweetness of mandarin. Then, Mimosa Infusion is moving towards a more floral heart in which we find, of course, mimosa. What’s more, it is further enriched with the feminine romanticism of the rose. Finally, it all ends with more woody but equally sophisticated tones.

Mimosa is a very well known medicinal plant. Indeed, it is used in homeopathy to calm nervousness and treat disorders of insomnia. In addition, it is one of the first to bloom in March, at the same time embalming all the gardens with its fresh and sweet scent. It is therefore logical that his perfume was very quickly used in the perfume sector. Also, it is precisely this plant, synonymous with sunny days, that Prada has today placed at the heart of its composition. Its scent begins with a flight made from star anise, a fruit directly from a tropical tree growing in China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Japan or the Philippines. This reveals an exotic aniseed scent, spicy and very aromatic. It is then associated with the invigorating freshness of mandarin, a citrus fruit known for its tangy sweetness. Then, Infusion de Mimosa evolves towards a more floral heart. This one is, of course, full of mimosa. This spring flower releases here its powdery, vegetal and honeyed scent. She is then accompanied by the most feminine flower there is: the rose. The latter gives the whole a real boost of elegance and romanticism. Finally, the whole is completed by more woody tones signing the sophistication and character of the whole.
